2Good hardware but beta like firmware.
By Robo
Been using this printer for over 4 months. It's good but a key issues is it is NOT user-friendly at all. It has very cumbersome and complicated firmware and software - not built for people. It feels like beta firmware.

In every day operations, compared to our 10 year old cheep-o multifunction fax, this printer has actually lowered productivity (not in terms of printer speed but in terms of using the device). We use the fax a lot (all day sometimes) and people at my office repeatedly have to ask me how to send a fax and scan documents. They can't seem to learn it.

The issue is chiefly with navigating nested sub-menus and user-prompts in order to perform very simple tasks. For instance, faxing to a pre-programmed number literally requires 9 button presses, using 5 different buttons, while navigating a series of user-prompts and sub-menus.

Programming a number into the address book essentially requires a tech person. I'm the only one at my work that can program fax numbers into its address book. The same kind of story applies to basic scanning and initial set up.

Honestly, we are very disappointed in it because it's specs are so good. And it does have a lot of potential to be a great machine for our office. It just really needs a firmware update (which hasnt happened yet, and if it does there's no telling if it will fix the issues or not).

At this point, unless you are tech savvy and enjoy running through many user promts I would look elsewhere. I'll update this review if this ever gets addressed in the future.
